Recording in Baltimore: New Music!

So, here I am recording in Baltimore, and I'm STOKED! This new collaboration project is SO off the hook. I can't wait to see what the final album sounds like. It's so catchy, and something that most anybody would like. It's the first time I've collaborated with a hip hop artist. I love it!

I get to use my Blues and Funk/Rock style, and it is incorporated with these amazing beats, and hip hop! I can't get enough of it!

There have been so many developments in my music career besides just this collaboration and me being here now recording in the studio. But those details will not be disclosed right now!

I'm just SO SO SO hyped with this new step in my music career, I feel it's a great step to take, and I can't wait till this album is dropped, I think you all are in for a real treat!

Until next time, stay stellar world!

NEW EP

So, I finally completed my first bona fide EP which I decided to title "Long Awaited" since it's been FOREVER since I've recorded a new album. To record this EP, I flew out to San Francisco to record my tracks, and have them mastered and produced by my uncle Mike Ulliman. He did an amazing job, and I'm really excited about the disc!
This EP took over two years to finally complete, so, I took my time. And of course it takes a very long time to produce and mix the songs to sound optimal! I just hope this gives everyone a true taste of the passion I obtain for music!
I truly hope everyone enjoys it :)
Check it out, just visit my myspace page to hear a few of the tracks! It's www.myspace.com/eulliman.
Thanks for all your support, and everything you've all done, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be able to do what I do! Thanks for the love :)

Gotta Love Honesty

So, I'm here, at home, it's only 11 o'clock at night, and I'm beginning to get tired. But, as I dwindle down and calm down, I can't help but wonder why human being can be so brutal sometimes. I'm sick of games, and I'm sick of the emotional roller-coasters people love to put you on, I mean, what did I ever do to deserve such a thing?

What seems to be a common theme in human behavior is emotion, I mean, shit, we are all beings of emotion. What I don't like about emotion is that it can cause pain. Although pain can be a good thing, in a non-hedonistic manner, (reminding us of being human, teaching us life-lessons, etc...), it sucks terribly. I'm tired of pain, I'm tired of enduring shit for someone who can't have the decency to not cause the pain. It's just so unnecessary sometimes, and quite frankly, I don't want to have anything to do with it. Humans are so complex...PEOPLE are so complex. What the hell is it to one person as to why I feel a certain way sometimes. Why can't people just accept each other for who they are??? It doesn't make sense to me. Constantly I'm having to pretend like I'm not affected by so many things that really do affect me, just so another person isn't offended, or turn around and get mad at me. There's so much to not understand, and not enough time to really get it all down.

Time won't slow down, it never will, and it is constantly testing me and pushing me to the limits. It's that damn constant race...

New Band

So, I'm sitting here in class, (yes...I'm still in college), and I realized I haven't posted anything in forever! Well, there have been a couple of new developments in my life!

First off, I joined/created a new band!!! We are called ONE 2ND. We play out a couple of times a month. It's awesome. We are currently only a trio, but are waiting for the right bass player to come along and join up. So far it's a drummer, guitar/vocals, and keys/vocals. We create sounds that we couldn't imagine alone. The band consists of Me, Sean McGrath, and Joey Marlow. I've known Sean all through high school, and we even played together our senior year in a band for our senior recognition assembly. We wrote our own song. Joey I met around my freshman year of college out at a coffee shop. I actually was scheduled to play before him, and as I was playing, he started talking to my mother, asking if I was in a band, and all that jazz...well, we ended up talking after I was done playing, and after that, we got together and played a couple of shows at this coffee shop. Come two years later, Sean and I got back into contact, and we decided to give this band thing another shot. Well, I mentioned Joey on keys, and he agreed to give it a shot. Our first band practice was jaw-dropping for us...after playing a Maroon 5 cover song, we looked at each other, and all realized that we have something special here, and that we NEED to pursue this music career. We all get along very well musically, and in general. We are friends outside of the band as well...so, that helps too. Joey is the keyboard/vocals, Sean is the drums/percussion, and I'm, of course, the guitar/vocals. It's awesome! We love what we are doing, and we write our own stuff, as well as some cover songs, and they've added their two cents to the songs I've written in which we play as well!!! We plan to continue to spread our passion to the world...so watch out!

Secondly, and lastly, I'm in a relationship now that has lasted 15 months. That's incredible to me. I've never lasted that long with a significant other. But she's more than a significant other, she's my best friend. I've known her since high school. She's the most beautiful, amazing human being I know. I couldn't ask for a better person to share my life with, and I plan to share the rest of my life with her!!!

Well, that's all I've got! I hope you are all having an excellent life, and I will keep you all posted!

California, Here I Come

So, it's another summer, and I've already booked a flight out to San Francisco to record with my uncle.

This time, I'm taking my girlfriend with me. Talk about the epitome of what I want in life!

I can't wait to get out there and record. I've already went in winter of 2006, and I completed 3 songs, but I plan to record around 5-7 more this summer. I leave on the 15th of June, and I can't wait!

I'm so stoked!

This is what makes me the most complete and happy...music, and my girl.

My journey continues this June, and I hope to find the tones I've been searching for, and to find MY SOUND.

Dear sound,

I've been chasing you forever,
And I'm hoping that this letter,
Will bring you confidence,
To come to me,
In all reality.
Please come home...

So, here's another Eric Ulliman declaration:

Watch out world!-Here I come, and I'm bigger and ready than EVER!!!

May God bless you all, and I hope all stays and goes well for you!

Where I'm Going

"I can't shake the demons on my tail, and I can't lose the shadows that infiltrate my mind."
-Me

I know I'm not the only out there who has these questions, these doubts, these suspicions, about everything in life exploring my very own existence. I'm not here to say how to go about this, I'm only here to state what I believe.

I stand in a muddle of many different factors that make up one life. My existence is that of one more heart beating, one more set of eyes looking, one more pair of lungs to breathe the air; to share the air without consequence. One of billions. That means that there are billions of minds asking the same question. We are all throwing these questions in the air hoping gravity will bring them down with an answer attached. It's not that simple. That's what is hard to grasp, this concept of difficulty, and it's the learning curve that makes us unique.

I say embrace it, love it, nurture this with great care. Treat this like a relationship, don't overwhelm it, but love it with all your heart, and show it your appreciation: explore the lack of boundaries, and come up with your own response.

"Where there is questioning, there is exploring, and where there is learning, there is wisdom."
-Me

The construct of human nature is that of finding a purpose, the reason we are here, why we do what we do. We can't avoid this. But what if it's more than a purpose; rather, a choice. What if there really is no infrastructure, socially and psychologically which we can't overcome and will determine our outcome, our life. Humans adapt. We have this amazing ability to overcome environments, social status, and barriers that are set up. There's a reason the few people who succeed, do. This is they see that NOTHING is impossible. It's more than accomplishment, it's more than purpose, it's more than existence...It's Human.

Life

I've officially decided that I am one fucked up individual.

Life is throwing so much at me. I don't know how to react, or how I should deal with the cards that are being dealt to me. I have a great life, nothing could be better. Yet, I react so shitty to things, and cause pain to those who I love the most.

I don't know what to do...where's the relief team to come in and save the day?
Why do I have to be such a messed up person?
Why do I exist if all I do is mess up people's lives?
This raises questions as to why God would create me. My purpose I'll serve in this world is so questionable right now...

Yet, Music still remains my escape. Music is my purpose...

Just how do I get it?

And why do I fuck other people's lives up on the way?

They don't deserve it, and I love them so much...
